60th Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance

This year marks the 60th anniversary of the first Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, founded in 1950 as the "Pebble Beach Road Race" which took place along 17 Mile Drive. The featured marques at this year's Concours d'Elegance were Italy's Alfa Romeo and the Pierce-Arrow Motor Company of Buffalo, N.Y., as well as the work of the legendary Italian automotive designer Ghia. Vintage American motorcycles through 1959 were also on display, along with Bonneville land-speed racers and Hot Rod Lakesters. This year's Concours also marks the 75th anniversary of Jaguar and the 100th anniversary for the Indianapolis 500.
